The Adoption Process

If you are interested in fostering or adopting a horse or hooved animal, please read the criteria and fill out an application. You can download the PDF and mail it to us or complete an online application.

We will follow up as quickly as possible to answer your questions and schedule a time for you to meet the animal. As part of the adoption process, we run a background check and follow up on vet and farrier references (if applicable).

Rescue Readers 2026

Children spend time at the Hooved Animal Humane Society interacting and reading with the horses. Sign up through the Woodstock Public Library.

Meet Santa and his favorite herd of horses this December 6th from 10 am to 2 pm. Get a printed photo with the jolly guy in red, and write letters so the elves know what to pack on Santa’s sleigh. Crafts for kids, Snacks for horses and people available for purchase. Admission is $20 per family.
