At the Hooved Animal Humane Society (HAHS), your compassion can live on through a meaningful and lasting gift—a bequest or estate gift that ensures the continued rescue, rehabilitation, and protection of hooved animals well into the future.
Bequests are tremendously crucial to ensuring our long-term ability to provide humane care for equines and other hooved animals—not just in Illinois, but across the United States.
The HAHS Legacy Circle is for individuals who leave a gift to the Hooved Animal Humane Society through their will or estate plan. As a Legacy Member, your generosity becomes part of HAHS’s enduring mission to safeguard the welfare of hooved animals.
The HAHS Legacy Membership is a permanent membership for individuals who grant a gift to the Hooved Animal Humane Society through their will or estate planning.
Bequests are tremendously important to ensure our future as a provider of humane care for hooved animals, both in the state of Illinois and throughout our country. Bequests can include a sum of money, a deferred gift, real estate, residuary estate, and endowments.
Donors are encouraged to file a copy of the relevant will with our organization. An individual can either indicate a specific bequest to our organization or bequeath a percentage of the residual of their estate.
-Leave a specific dollar amount
-Designate a percentage of your estate
“I give and bequeath to the Hooved Animal Humane Society (HAHS), a nonprofit organization (Federal Tax ID: 23-7150339), located at 10804 McConnell Rd, Woodstock, IL 60098, the sum of $__ (or __% of my estate) to be used for its general charitable purposes.”
A benefactor can also obtain a current income tax deduction by making a charitable gift of a personal residence or farm (while retaining the right to occupy the residence or operate the farm for the duration of his or her life).
A donor may also choose to make an outright gift of a residence or farm, which would provide the immediate financial support the organization needs to achieve its mission.
All bequests and gifts to the Hooved Animal Humane Society are deductible from the donor’s adjusted gross estate. For further information on how you can begin these long-term plans, please contact your attorney.
