As of 2025, Candy is a 26-year-old dark bay Westphalian mare. She came to HAHS through a large-scale ASPCA rescue, and since her arrival, she has made incredible strides in rebuilding trust with humans.

Candy has received basic ground training and has shown significant improvement in her interactions with people. While she may be a bit reserved at first, once she gets to know you, she becomes a loving and responsive companion. At HAHS, Candy has been an excellent participant in programs that teach volunteers basic horse handling and care skills, proving to be a great teacher herself.

Candy gets along wonderfully with both mares and geldings, and her social and friendly demeanor makes her a favorite among other horses. Candy is looking for a loving adopter who is willing to spend time with her daily, building on the trust she’s worked hard to develop. With patience and consistency, Candy will continue to thrive and show her true, affectionate side.
